The night time check ...

Not so much about horses but all critters...

Wither a cow, goat, horse or other critter... Just before bed do you do a barn yard check?

It is something I must do... no matter the weather or if I had seen then an hour before, I feel the need to do a "night" time check...

How about you?

Don't have a barn in New Mexico, but I do an animal check. It's cold, so two cats go in the garage to their beds, three dogs come in to their kennels, two chicken runs and two turkey runs checked. Indoors I put the parrot to bed and check on the baby chicks that are in the tub under heat still. Then lights out!

I do a barn check and a door check and a bed check. If I don't I can't sleep.

I feed the feral cat every night when I take out the trash.
Does that count?
My Grandpas always checked on their animals before bed.
Then fed the animals first thing in the morning before they had their own breakfast.
If I raised animals I would do the same thing.

I put the goats in their shed with water and some alfalfa and shut them in. Take the dogs out for a last time. They sleep with us and tonight is definitely a --Three dog night! LOL
