Wish I had that much snow here. Only about 3" on the ground but the cold FINALLY arrived.

Looked at our forecast, today is a nice day followed by 2 weeks of snow, freezing rain, cold, and muck..... Then again our weather forecaster here is only right about 30% of the time....

"My" 2 week forecast is cloudy, breezy, with occasional snow flurries, highs in the low 30's, and lows in the mid 20's..... - Hey if they can guess, I can hope...

That was my wishful thinking forecast, the weatherman was not as optimistic....

Brought little granddaughter to school in the pickup truck on 4 wheel drive. It is 7 degrees out there. We are thinking about going to Wichita today for some shopping, and they are typically a few degrees colder, we'll see.

Sleeted a little earlier .
Predicting maybe 1/8" ice tonight nothing tomorrow.
Then late tomorrow evening the real storm comes , we could see 3/4" of ice.

Last time ,2009, we had 3/4" ice .
We were without power for 21 days.

Am I prepared in all areas ...of course I am.

Most of KY is in an ice alley.
Always snows just north of us and rains just south of us ...we get the ice every winter.
Sometimes really bad .
, Most time just inconvenience.

But 3/4" of ice is gonna take down power lines and poles plus many trees.

Wish we had your weather, Bacpacker. Ours is bad at 10 right now, but starting Friday we go into the negatives. Monday is supposed to be negative 13. Snow on Sunday again. Blech. Will be making a place for the dogs indoors starting tomorrow. With an old cat and a parrot in here, won't be fun. They've been in the garage.

We are expecting ice maybe 50 miles north of us overnight. Warm front coming up from the south, cold front coming down from the north and meeting near or over us. I wouldn't be surprised to have storms tonight/tomorrow. By Sunday may be in the teens.

The snow came in earlier than predicted yesterday, followed by freezing rain, then back to snow. I would hate to the the guys on the garbage trucks in this kind of weather.

We are expecting this pattern until about the 19th....
