What are you paying for gas?

Paid 3.19 for E15 yesterday. Paid 2.99 for the tank before that. For some reason my truck seems to love E15. I get 10 to 15% better mpg with it...
Good for you but that is strange. Gasoline with ethanol has less "power" than straight gasoline. A gallon of gasoline has 1/3 more energy than a gallon of ethanol so the fuel injectors have to add more fuel if it is an ethanol/gasoline blend. In 2007 my friend's new truck was designed for E85 and he said back then, when fuel prices were a lot cheaper, that E85 needed to be at least 30 cents cheaper per gallon to make up for the loss of fuel mileage so if the gas station had E85 a lot cheaper he would burn that but if not he used the straight gasoline.

I know. All my other vehicles got worse mpg on E15. I know E85 vehicles usually lose at least 25%. But my truck went from 19-21 mpg to getting 21-23!

I saw $3.49 per gallon of regular unleaded at my usual station the other day, but I didn't stop since I already had plenty of fuel. I know one thing: I'll be topping off EVERY vehicle AND filling a couple of 5-gallon plastic jerry jugs I have BEFORE the November election, because ya KNOW the cost will only go UP as soon as 'ELECTORAL FRAUD DAY' is in the history books. 😡

January 20, 2017 took it's toll on a lot of people.

I'm kidding, I actually voted for him the second time.

Let's be grateful that so many don't do that math? Otherwise, there might not be opportunity like this to save?

My local E90= $4.23. E100=$4.43 (guess which pump I go)

We have a small grocery store gas station where I just got gas for $4.99 a gallon for regular. Since I shop at that store, I received a $.20 cent a gallon discount, so I paid $4.79 a gallon.

I'm also certain this "low" price is due to draining our National EMERGENCY Strategic Oil Reserve.

:ROLL EYES:

We need some Australians to weigh in.
You need a calculator because not only is it in liters, the cost is in AU$.
...But they have really, REALLY, good gas!
100 octane? Remember that? They have it everywhere:

That opens a Pandora's box.
Many of us 'pretend-pundits' are weighing the possible outcomes.
One of two possible outcomes will ensue.
1. The chains will be pulled off of the economy, and demand (and the price of oil/gas), will soar.
2. There will be a giant mess that will send the country into recession and send demand (and prices) into the toilet for a couple years.

I'm not a fortune-teller, but...
Here's a glimmer of hope: I watched my Exxon stock reach $110 today😁.

We are setting at $3.39/ gallon for E10 gas at the local Casey's. If we go to the Co-op Fuel Store, E10 is $3.19, as the ethanol that is used in their gas is produced here in our county.

And just a tidbit for those of us that store gasoline. You're far better off to store summer gasoline than winter. Winter gasoline is made to have a lower flash point than summer with the addition of butane to the blend. This lets the gasoline evaporate at a much lower temperature. The problem with storing this gas is that even on a mild day, the butane can boil out of the gasoline and either rupture your storage can or make a huge mess when you open the can.

Hoohaw. Saw $3.80 today, up a dime (or 1,5 dimes, depending) overnight. Considering issuing an ultimatum to Exxon-Mobil.
It's our fault. ☹️
Two of my 'buddies':
Marketwatch said: "Exxon Mobil (ticker: XOM) declared a quarterly dividend of 91 cents a share, up 3.4% from 88 cents. ....
Exxon stock, which yields 3.2%, has returned 81% this year through Oct. 27, including dividends, compared with minus 19% for the S&P 500, according to FactSet.

Pharmaceutical company AbbVie (ABBV) said it will boost the quarterly payout to $1.48 a share, compared with $1.41 currently. That’s a 5% increase. The annualized dividend will rise to $5.92 a share.

It's $3.99/gal here in southern Ohio.
Although last night we drove through a little town that routinely has lower prices and were able to top off at $3.67/gal. This little town is at the intersection of two US routes, but is still pretty much in the middle of nowhere (but happens to be halfway between our house and our 'farm').

Unfortunately, my Life Savings have dwindled to ~$5K, which will be going down, not up, but may be marginally enough to bury me with, in the non-Potters Field part of the cemetery - if I don't hang around too long. The Veteran's Burial Benefit ain't as much help as it used to be.

Hmm; that reads like whining, but I ain't. I'm 85, and had a pretty good run. Lots of folks have had it a lot worse. My personal philosophy even includes another interesting life after this one.

"What, me worry?"

Hah. Did you recognize that "What me worry" quote? Alfred E. Neuman, A Mad Comics figurehead, in the Long Ago. The other name I remember from those days is Melvin Of The Apes. Tarzan with an attitude - and a tendency for bad landings when he swung on a vine.
