My BIL came to stay with Granny for a few days so I was able to can up some chopped tomatoes, candied jalapenoes, pumpkin puree, zucchini for trying later and spaghetti sauce. BIL left this last Sat so I get in what I can. I ended up cooking a couple cookie sheets of chopped tomatoes yesterday and have them in the refrigerator to puree for some more spaghetti sauce. Today is another doctor visit for my husband in the big city and on our way home going to be picking up a cow at the processors. After we get home, it will be put all away and get dinner made, then grannys. A friend is covering for us while we are away today.
I had no idea that long term care cost so much for sitters now that granny needs 24/7 care. At $12,098 a month, it is just something we can afford, even as a family for very long. We are currently remodeling the bathroom with a walk in shower and putting in handicap bars for granny to move in. Should only be a few more weeks before the install. We are also expanding our closet to fit everything that is in the spare bedroom.
I am hoping that once she is here, I can have more time in the garden when hunny is home. . . I have to admit, it has never looked so sad with all the weeds. I still need to start making watermelon jelly scanning up cantaloupe and more jalapenoes. Eggplant and okra should be coming in soon too.
