Had doctor's appointment yesterday. Told her how I had some slight swelling in my lower legs. So now I'm on HCTZ to see if that helps.
Normal day today.
Some cleaning ( theres always dishes *sigh*)
shower
making the bed
tending to the pups
now I'm getting some internet time in and I plan on reading some
still have to figure out whats for supper
I have a big craving for some cake (lemon) but I think I might make cupcakes so I can freeze them so I don't have to deal with a 13x9 cake pan in the fridge
I also found an old recipe for oatmeal and blueberry muffins I want to make. Might actually be able to get the hubby to eat oatmeal that way * fingers crossed*

Cleaning house and getting the animal stuff done early. CPS is coming at 2 for our first class. They didn't tell us how many classes we "need". Had to send off another essay with photos to CPS California to describe our week with granddaughter over Thanksgiving. Have a huge stack of papers ready for the "class" today. The SAFE questionnaire was insane. I wanted to put MYOB on most of the questions. One was describe yourself as a teenager. How do you feel about your mother. How would you describe your first sexual encounter. How would you describe your sexual compatibility with your spouse. Pervs.

@Peanut ,
Well I'm getting old, so forgive me if I missed or forgot what is going on here on Monday...hope it's not something too serious.
Prayers for ya...
Jim
PS, I'm a stickler on the PSI in my car and truck tires...use 2 gages..:dunno::D

Thanks... All that silliness back in late summer, in and out of hospital... massive weight gain then loss. Specialists in the big town could do no more and passed me off to the specialists in the big city, best medical facility in the state. It'll probably require 2 more trips for tests before I get a clear path forward, by the end of January most likely. I just wish I could pronounce my new doctors name...

New podiatrist, different result...

New guy thinks it's tendonitis of the tendon that runs to my big toe, added to plantar fasciitis. The treatment will actually be much the same but more agressive, with physical therapy added. He says my calf muscles and hamstrings are frighteningly tight (his words) and are putting added tension on my feet. This combined with my job, being in a heavy equipment cab all day stomping on brakes and go pedals, is a bad situation. So I get to go see the therapist and let him torture me...

@MoBookworm1957 , those grandbabies sure do become our whole life...
Prayers that she is not seriously ill.

Prayers for you and the upcoming surgery.
Apply heat to that knee everyday as often as you can.
Gets the vascularity up for the bones and muscles...for quick healing.
Every little bit helps.
Mine is beyond my expectations.

Let us know about that little GD.

Jim
Thank you Jim,
I have her pretty much since she was 3 months old.
She's 2 . 5 years old now.
She normally with her dad or me most of the time.
She spends some time with her Aunt ( mom's big sister)too.
Her mom not so much.
Couple hours here and there.
Mom has wanted her around more lately.
Been pretty worried for the last few weeks about her.
They have no schedule for my grand daughter.
Big sister is 14 years old.
Maybe I'm worrying for nothing, but I don't think so.

Been baking cookies today.
Trying to find kid friendly(maul proof) dough.
For when grand daughter helps Granny.
Snickerdoodles, and Peanut Butter held up reasonably well.
Both those recipes said it makes 36, nope 14.
But that's okay too.
Grand daughter kept trying to eat dough.
Thinking my oven might be off by a few degrees.
But that's okay too.
Grand daughter was such a good helper today.
We(she) only dropped 1 whole egg this morning.
We( I) got it cleaned up before Strawberry could get to it.
Grand daughter has gone home now.
Granny is resting, reading forums.
Strawberry has drug her tired but to my bed.
Strawberry has been out the required number of times this morning.

Still waiting for my log splitter. :mad:Tracking says its still sitting in Abq. Its been sitting there since 4:45am on the 3rd. But hey, its only 2 days late......

Ugh.

My wife is experiencing the same thing, only it's her new Christmas tree she is waiting on. Tracking said "by end of day" Wednesday. No tree. Then tracking was changed to "by end of day" Thursday. No tree. Now tracking says "under review". Meanwhile we have no tree and she is starting to lose her composure.

Maybe she'll get a discount on the tree. Terri, too bad you couldn't just of picked up the log splitter when you were in ABQ.
Survived 3 hours of CPS drilling. Said we did fine, and have to skim through some on line stuff and then she will send her report to California and be done with it. I gave her some eggs and our African Grey danced for her. She likes animals better than people.

Mine fluctuates from "by end of day Wed the 4th" to my house and "Dec 11th in Phoenix!" I'm starting to think they lost it.

Mo, Peanut, and Spike like BP said, prayers to y'all. Also, WVDL glad your legs are better. Do they look as good as Jim's :) (heehee)
Amish - I wouldn't want to know those things about anybody - eeeew! Who think that c**p up? Glad your class went well though and hoping for smooth sailing from here on out.
Terri - have you called the company and asked where it is. (even though you can track it) If you call them and let them know you don't have it, sometimes they can get somewhere with shipping as the check to pay shipping comes from them.
Had to make another run to Lewiston ID today. It's been a long day. I'm still at work waiting on hubby to get back to the shop.

Someone is sitting in a desert with no trees trying to figure out what a log splitter is. :D

Called and emailed. They are "looking into it".

Okay, one more. Has anyone heard from @hashbrown ? Don't these folks know they are supposed to keep us informed so we don't worry about them?

I'm all good thanks for the concern! I'm remodeling the apartment in my workshop in my spare time. I have strange sort of obsessive personality when I start a project that project is all I can think about. So I've been working long hours turning a dank dusty old place into a nice studio apartment. It is coming along very nicely, my flooring doesn't come in until next Wednesday so I figure I should finish next weekend. I can't wait to show before and afters!

Only made about 30 banana breads today. Definitely not a record, but glad they are done. In the old days, I soaked them in Jack Daniels. Now they just get an orange glaze.

Tomorrow is National Christmas Cookie Day for me and then I am pretty much done with secular Christmas activities.

Thats a lot of nanners! I think I'm doing the cookie thing tomorrow too :)

I got them all (over ripe) from a dollar store near me for $1. I have a lot of butter softened this morning. Know I'm making sugar cookies, maybe shortbread and DH's favorite, white chocolate chip. Some of it may be frozen in rolls so I am not going too crazy today.

Boyscouts are working on their float for the Starlight Parade tonight in our village. So grandson will be busy. Granddaughter and the American Heritage Girls will be at a Senior Rehab Center this afternoon doing Christmas crafts with seniors. Then her friend will be spending the night and we're all going to the Starlight Parade. It will be freezing cold out there. The firefighters usually do a huge bonfire with green chili stew after the parade.

I am spending part of my day running a protection detail for an elected official as he attends a local sporting event. Hopefully the politician decides to make it a short appearance and I make it home in time for dinner. At least this is a plain clothes assignment and I don't have to put on my full uniform. It's amazing how people act in front of elected officials, like they are some kind of Hollywood celebrity rather than an employee of the people.

Great minds think alike- I'm making sugar cookies, button-ups (a shortbread) and hubby's fav. oatmeal monsters. I have never seen any sort of produce in any of our $ stores. Closest thing is some frozen over processed garbage they claim as edible.
@Amish Heart Sounds festive - have fun.
@Sentry18 That amazes me. Aren't or shouldn't they be "just a member of the community?
@The Lazy L Sounds like a pretty rough day- enjoy :)

A quiet morning here. Dad is still in a lot of pain, something has to been done. As long as he sits perfectly still he's okay but if he has to get up to eat, shower etc he's in agony.

I'll be at the best hospital in the state Monday morning. I'm not leaving there until I find a spine specialist dad can see asap.

I have no plans but more shredding. I might brace up the shelf I put in the toolroom. I've already purchased the items needed.

The slip cover I ordered for the big ugly chair came yesterday. It fits, sort of... I think I have it on wrong. It has seams in the materiel so I'm sure it's supposed to go on a certain way. I'm just not sure which way that is...
