But nothing will top the poor lady who got stuck in a mammo machine at the mayo clinic… Now that lady was funny!!!
Those mammogram machines are why some women do not get their mammograms as often as they should. There have been jokes going around for years about it.

Mammogram Practice Exercises

First Mammogram Practice Exercises

Many women are afraid of their first mammogram, but there's no need to worry. By taking a few minutes each day for a week preceding the exam, and doing the following practice exercises, you will be totally prepared. And you can do this right in your own home!

Exercise 1:

Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast between the door and the main box. Have one of your strongest friends slam the door shut and lean on the door for good measure. Hold that position for five seconds (while you hold your breath). Repeat again, in case the first time wasn't effective enough.

Exercise 2:

Visit your garage at 3 am when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect. Take off your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under the rear tire of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back the car up until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat for the other breast.

Exercise 3:
Freeze two metal bookends overnight. Strip to the waist. Invite a stranger into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts. Smash the bookends together as hard as you can. Set an appointment with the stranger to meet next week and do it again!!

CONGRATULATIONS!
Now you have nothing at all to worry about when you go for your Mammogram!

And just a thought for all you women out there:

MENtal illness, MENstrual cramps, MENtal breakdown, MENopause. Ever notice how all of women's problems start with men? And when we have real problems, it's HISterectomy!

P.S. Don't forget the "GUY"necologist!

When you talked about this when it happened the last time, it seemed that access to those pipes was difficult. I had wondered if "heat tape" might work to keep those pipes from freezing? I've known people who lived in mobile homes and others with cabins who have had pipes freeze and this worked for them.

I've used heat tapes before, both in a mobile home I had once and on livestock waterers. Problem here is, there's no power outlet where I need it. And, I think what's happening is that there's no insulation around the tub and the water lines run between the tub and the wall so I'd have to be able to rip the tub out to get to them. Don't think the landlady is going to allow me to do that...

My now deceased uncle lived in Altoona, Iowa. After he lost his wife in 1989, he ballooned up so much that I was told he couldn't fly. I don't know what it takes to determine whether someone can fly or not because of their size. Like some things, wouldn't someone sue the airlines for taking their size into consideration? What can an airlines do to get around these situations? Can they make seating arrangements where people have to enter their weight and then have a code or designation for seating, such as all people over 300 pounds get put into this section, where there is extra space for them?
I used to work with a guy who was over 400 pounds. We called him Bam Bam. He sometimes had to buy 2 seats when he flew.

He lived near another railroader that was about six three and 300 pounds. Sometimes they would book adjoining seats. Then the 300 pound guy would pretend to throw a fit about getting seated next to Bam Bam. He would get a free upgrade and Bam Bam would get 2 seats to himself!

@Weedygarden although being stuck in a mammo machine is a little comical... It was the lady who made the situation funny! She had everyone in stitches! The head of mayo's in house engineering group got me to help him get the lady out. We had to stop and just laugh a couple of times.

It is good to have a sense of humor in so many situations.

@Spikedriver,
Works to thaw fuel lines.

Maybe a water line.

Hey Double R...just saw what one of our neighbors posted on youtube. Look up Jordans Harvest and the video is called Amish Coyote Drive 2022. They just did that the weekend prior. He was careful not to get any amish (except their legs, ha) in the videoing. They do that here, and were right down the road from our place.
That is awesome!!! Wish that could happen here. Think that’s the first time I’ve seen shotguns used for coyotes. Love the respect for the fences. We fix so many when we go to the ground squirrel fields.
Nice area!

Good evening y’all! I am over the moon right now. Have been all evening.
We have a realtor!!! Now we know what the next steps are in this grand adventure! Some of the nicest people! (hopefully a certain person doesn’t read this or I’ll be blushing forever) It was all I had to actually hang up the phone. I miss good people! Felt so comfortable taking to them. To know our dreams could really come true. I have hope for the future and feel like this could actually be a reality now! So many uncertainties cleared up. It‘s not just looking at properties now. We will actually (hopefully) be able to make an offer. Next step is getting the financing stuff squared away (didn’t know it’s ok to do that beforehand) so we can take the next step. We WILL be ready when our dream property comes up.
Went to town and was able to get everything except for milk and cheese. None to be found at the stores I went too. Picked up so,e potatoes to can and put away and some celery to FD for future use. Also “scored“ some cabbage. Going to attempt sauerkraut again now that the weather is colder.
Barely made it home before hubby left for work but did get to fill him in on the move info. He’d already done most of the chores so I may process another harvest moon and get the celery ready for the FD’er.
Hope y’all had a great day! Don’t mind me.just over here dreaming about freedom and happiness

The fencing and the cows are a problem. They did our farm a few years back, we have a big tree line, but too many fences up now and two miles down the road there's a bunch of cows that just got moved to the harvested corn field. So our road was a no go this time.
That's great news about the realtor!

It did look like a good time though. We are over run with them now in our area. Town is so close now that it’s pushed them out our way. I don’t mind them until they start getting so thick they are killing everything. They go in cycles. Get so thick then sickness wipes a lot out. Nothing like doing what’s best for them by not keeping populations in check and letting them get sick and die from disease 🤷🏻‍♀️

Turkeys are everywhere here. Up until hunting season. Then we have a hard time finding them where it’s safe to hunt. Thanks @Peanut. Prayers are being answered for sure. I can’t even image what it will be like. Hope we can hunt a lot
Shoot 'em all, Erica. I trust you already have all the appropriate tools for the job...😉

I hope the frozen pipes thaw out. I wonder if there is some way to spray low expansion spray foam in the area to insulate-- but that should be left up to the landlord.

That's good news Double R!

Today I got a new mouse. Logitech MX Anywhere 2s. I have the older version as well. This one feels about the same but responds a little faster. and has longer battery life. It supposedly is weighted better but I haven't really noticed the difference. Once I get my desktop running, I can use one for my desktop and the other for my laptop.

Thunderstorms are kicking around outside and the thunder is rather soothing.

My wife used to nag me to get a kayak so we could enjoy more time on the water together, summer time of course. So tonight I ordered a Mokai. Its a motorized kayak, has a small motor with a jet pump. Goes up to 20 mph and about 70 miles on a tank of gas. This is my kind of kayaking. Shes already concerned that I'll want to tweak the motor for more hp. I promised that I wouldn't. I didn't say anything about swapping motors though...

I have never in my life had a mammogram, refuse lol! I feel about that like some of you feel about Covid vax. Don't fix it if it ain't broke lol!

Good luck with yours if you are going to have one

It's raining, but probably will turn into more snow soon since it is still cold. This is the longest we have ever had snow on the actual road since we moved here. Son managed to get down the mountain and is parked at the bottom so he can go to school. We cleared some snow off the really steep areas with shovels. The main roads are all cleared now.
Supposed to get even colder next week, yuck.
We let the animals out yesterday, put out hay and actually cleared some snow off the pasture. The goats stayed right in front of the barn door, they did go out. The sheep stayed right in the cleared area where we put the hay. None of them looked very happy.

I am SO over the freakin covid crap!!! We have a farm club meeting soon and I don't know if we should go or not. We might have already had covid ( all of us had a cold a few weeks ago, husband got a weird rash, I got sort of a sinus problem) but we don't know. We have to be fully functional in February and March since our goat kids and lambs will be coming. So I really don't want to get sick now. On the other hand, you can get it in the grocery store, or farm store or anywhere. We have not isolated ourselves so far at all but going to a crowded meeting with buffet lunch might be a good way to get sick not only from covid but flu or regular cold too. I don't know why these meetings can't happen in the summer....I guess farmers are too busy in summer

Cleared room in the grow station for the clones.

Got my cuttings ready and then I discovered my lack of planning.

My dirt is frozen rock solid and is not thawing fast.

Note to self
Thaw your dirt a day ahead of time Ben!

The Princess will not be happy to find diet 5hawing 8n 5he mud room I am sure. Hopefully getting her car free and catching the mouse 5hat ate her chocolate will earn me some protection from her wrath. ;)

Question. It's winter time, can I cut ends off the grapes now and start trying to root them? When I tried rooting a couple years ago I was under the impression I needed new spring growth. But, that was for trees, not grapes. I could use a couple more grape vines.

Thanks in advance.
Michael

First, dang, I missed 4 and a half pages of posts on this thread just since Tuesday? All ya'all have been busy.
Second, today is Thursday already? How did I miss Wednesday?
Third, went to bed early last night, I was annoyed at the lack of help I was getting while trying to mud and tape the kitchen area. GF did help move stuff out of the way so I could move the ladder around but no help offered by anyone for the actual work. Ran out of hands trying to work around light fixture areas in the ceiling and while resting the mud hawk on the ladder a glob of mud fell off onto the kitchen sink because I took too long taping. That pizzed me off so I cleaned up my tools and quit for the day. GF did clean up the mud glop though after my colorful fit of rage at the mess. She then made dinner and after I ate I went to bed and was probably asleep by 10pm.
Forth, woke up about 4:45am and had the stressful anxious feeling and couldn't fall back to sleep so I got up and made a fire in the wood stove and here I am at the computer.
Fifth, while making the fire the GF got up for the restroom and asked what time I woke up, said "I love you, and went back to bed. I usually don't make a fire at 5:30am and have been feeling lousy for a couple months but she didn't ask how I was feeling or why I was awake so early.
Even though I don't have occupancy approval from the county for the house we are living in it. Now that the GF and her kids are all comfortable in their bedrooms and no longer living in trailers in the yard no one wants to help. I really want to b!+(h and complain but that will make me the bad guy. I would have cut this place down and left a pile of rubble without her financial help the past four years so it's good they are here but it is very annoying to not get any help. I can't (mentally) wait to get past final inspection so I can hook up the trailer and run away for a month.
