I'm only 55, but ........ I remember when I could sit on the floor and bend my leg up and around to cut my toenails!! I remember being able to hop up off the floor in a second or two, without moaning or groaning!! Someone please jump in before I add more!!😃
...Jump higher than 6".
I thought about it, and I haven't really had a reason to jump in the last 2 decades :(.
I chirped in another thread about discovering this (and I am not fat:mad:).
Many others may be surprised by this too.

A few years ago I sent the youngest granddaughter down a sledding hill not realizing there was boards with nails at the extreme bottom. I took off like a shot to rescue her . Her boots were punctured but not her.

I did try to play badminton but was injured falling backwards.

I am every bit as sharp as I was when I younger I am not as quick.

You are sharper now than then
Back then you were stupid but thought you were smart
Now you know better, that is smart

I remember when I could ........
Stand up without making any crunching/crackling noises.
Eat a couple 7-11 God-knows-how-old chili dogs at 2:30AM and felt fine in the morning.
Get ready to go out at 10:00PM because the night was still very young.
Drive a manual transmission (and I still miss it!!).

I used to be able to...

Move my right shoulder without it sounding like a bowl of rice krispies.

Bend over for more than 2 seconds without my back hurting.

Fit into 32" waist pants

Run, jump, move laterally, and crawl

OK, I can still do those last few things. Just much slower and with deliberate thought, so I don't hurt myself...

listen to you lot! and you think your going to survive WTSHTF?
I'm 75 and I'm healthier than a lot of people 25 years younger, there is an obesity crisis over here and most people can only waddle, they eat rubbish and are rubbish.

I used to play every sport whatever season it was. Remember when calisthenics was a warm-up? Now it would be a workout, and I would need a nap afterwards. Over the years I have watched my activities fall like dominoes. Can't do that anymore. Can't do that anymore. I am down to Golf and walking. As Lonewolf said, I don't run anymore. I waddle quickly.

I was O.K. until I was 60. After that it was like I fell off a cliff; a precipitous decline. I hate getting old.

Well... aint this a depressing thread!!!

I am 59 and I can still get off the floor, still do yoga ( some, no more handstands or full bridges) , can still cut my toenails...

But I can't run anymore since my accident , so I used to run 5 miles in under 50 minutes used to do an hour of high impact step aerobics with 2 steps under twice a week at the gym, used to be able to ski down a mountain at 50mph on a black run , and used to be able to drive 15 hours a day on trips
Can't do any of those things anymore

Been going swimming lately whenever we have a chance, plus still hike up the mountain with the dogs

Age aside, wrecks can do a number on you!! I have had many horses wrecks in my life. I was always the "I'll get on it and ride it" gal! Broke many a good horse in my day! Paying for it now!!

I had one, that was enough, lol. It was an older Morgan gelding, most gentle horse ever. We tried a gentle gallop, nope, mistake. He stumbled and went into a log roll while I was still in the saddle. Yep he rolled right over top of me.

I remember when I use to not exercise at all. My blood pressure was increasing to "high" and my resting pulse was about 76 BPM. Since I began walking for an hour a day (Since June), my blood pressure had dropped by 20 points, my resting heart rate is 64 BPM, I've lost 23 pounds, and decreased my waist size by 3". At my age, I actually enjoy walking neighborhoods, waving to local neighbors, picking up trash along my paths, and have a much better outlook on my life.

I had a neighbor that had something similar happen. He was one of the few farmers that still had a sizeable number of cattle in my area, and he liked to play cowboy and ride his quarter horse mare to go check on them. One day, for whatever reason, she ended up rolling on him and that wreck split his pelvis apart. He never really recovered from it and passed a few years later...

Wow, I knew I was lucky in that I wasn't injured any worse than I was, just some scrapes and bruises.
