I didn't realize that Jericho and Doomsday Preppers were in the Netflix cue now. I will have to watch some of it this week.

I did start watching the Amazing Mrs. Maisel. There were some awards for it recently which prompted me to watch it.

This is the first Netflix watching I've ever done. It's nice company when I want to hunker down inside the apartment (I hate city living, lol).
 
We've been watching various homesteader's youtube videos. Some surprisingly good, with some excellent information. Some are just meh...you'd think after homesteading here in our self built earth shelter, living hand to mouth for the first years...off grid with a hand pump and outhouse...from 1984 to 2007 without running water (when we dug out the side of the house and added a bath and laundry room...what a great choice)...Well, you'd think there'd be few things you could teach this old dog. But some of these folks have some wonderful ideas that we may be using come garden time. Being up here in the frozen north, don't have to think about that for awhile.

Did enjoy "Call the Midwife"...all through with that for now, although they plan two more years of programs. Saw all of Longmire a few years back. I'd hoped his daughter would become Sheriff and there'd be a spin off. Watched the old "Strike Back", but the new one just didn't catch our attention. Watched "Mrs Maisel", which is a hoot. Mostly we can't seem to find a series which catches our attention for more than a few episodes. I watched all of "Star Trek, Discovery" and love how the scientist who is in charge of on board propulsion is named Paul Stamets, who is a famous real life mycologist, and bases his faster than warp drive on the mycelial mat which connects all the universes, and with the aid of a giant Tardigrade, Paul Stamets connects himself to the drive...it's quite trippy, and is important in our permaculture applications. Mycelial mats connect everything in our forest gardens. It's important not to till, for that reason. Josh Sattin's youtube presence is amazing. He has the no weed method down. He also has some wonderful trellis ideas. A lot of his "style" doesn't translate from North Carolina coast to Northern Minnesota tundra, but I've learned a lot from watching his well made videos. I highly recommend watching him. Okay, I'm done. It's 4 feet of snow, gray, and a bit dismal out...I hate these overcast days of mid winter...humid...and cold to the bone. Even the birds, deer and squirrels aren't active...it's like a bit of frozen time.

Daughter has Netflix and I am on her account. Even when I paid for my own Netflix, it is a great deal if you watch any amount of movies. Amazon Prime is also great and I see that when I house sit.

Recently they promoted a movie making Jesus into something so blashemous I won't even repeat it, I can let slide lots of things in this sick messed up world but that was it for me.
 
We are still watching this couple who went from RV to sailboat aound the world and took to the sea .

Hubby and his little brother saw one the size of a house when they were about 7 to 9 years old in the 50s. They don't tell people because they know nobody beleives it. S.C.
He said lights on the bottom looked like jewels not any kind of light we have. And a sound that was more felt than heard totally quite and powerful not from this world quite.
Barely moving right over their heads. He said could have hit it with a rock underhanded easily ,that close.
 
My watching has been all over the place the last several weeks. Some dvds get split, half one night the other half the next. I still haven’t finished the dvd set of “Breaking Bad”, I’m on season 3 of 6.

I had a blip this week, I noticed my dvd player died a couple of days ago. Usually they display a range of symptoms then die. Not this one, it was working fine then stopped.

I bought a new one last night before going to sit with dad. I installed it this morning about 1am, took about 10 minutes. As before it’s a sony like my tv. It’s nice when the remotes are interchangeable and the cables are the same.

While at the store I bought the new “Midway” movie. It came with both Blu-ray and a regular dvd. This new Blu-ray/dvd player is nice with all the visual effects in the movie (I played the blu-ray disk). The new player has a lot more “horse power” than the old one. The visual effects were actually awesome.

I still think I like the original movie a bit better since I’ve watched it most of my life… sort of like an old comfy pillow. Speaking of old…

The African Queen w/Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn comes on late tonight, 11:45pm I think... A great old movie I haven't seen in years. Since I'm under a flash flood warning again tonight I'll be up watching the weather and checking the sump pump. Might as well watch a classic old movie.
 
3nd best movie in last 30 years, no agendas, no violence, porn .etc.etc.etc. Just amovie about real life.

Watched it again yesterday and I think all doctors should see this movie.

 
An old episode of Star Trek. Underground Amazon women stole Spokes brain. Captain Kirk and Bones had to find it and put it back in his head. Then they had to convince the Amazon women that it's ok to come up to the surface and live like regular people do.

We like old movies, one of my favorites was " The Rare Breed' Jimmy Stewart ,Mareen Ohara.

Over 20 years since we had a TV on.Still use the TV for a large screen with HDMI cable, while watching movies or youtube though.
 
The other day I found myself at Wally's staring at their discount movie bin. I found a few for about $5 each. I bought and watched "Sully" about the pilot who landed a plane in the Hudson river a few years ago. It was enjoyable.

I got the "Martian" w/Matt Damon, about an astronaut who got stranded on Mars. A feel good movie where the underdog wins. I think I paid $9 for it. I'll watch it again no doubt, not destined for a garage sale.

I got "Zombieland Double Tap" for $20, full price. Its the sequel to "Zombieland" which I really enjoyed. It's just as good as the first one with different things to laugh at, glad I bought it. My collection of funny zombie movies continues to grow... Still, my favorite in this category is "Shaun of the Dead", hysterical.

I also got "Looney Tunes Platinum" vol 1&2 for $10 for when youngsters are at the house. Let them laugh at real cartoons.

The real bargain that day was the entire mini-series of "Lonesome Dove" for $5.48 with tax. I end up watching it once a year anyway cut by commercials. Now I can watch the uncut version.

We got Sully and The Martian at WalMart too Peanut. Watched Sully a few months ago will watch The Martian later. Those bins are neat some movies have 4 movies in them.
 
I started watch an older completed television series that was on USA but is now on Hulu called "White Collar". It's about the FBI and a con man who is working for them now to stay out of prison. So far it's been pretty good.
