Sort of funny, my folks were suckers for any kind of traveling salesman. Mom would buy avon and tupperware products, usually from a relative. Dad would buy vacuum cleaners. These two people, normally "tight fisted with money", would buy almost anything if it drove up in the yard. It never made sense to me, so out of character.

Dad is still has a weakness for vacuum cleaners. Couple years ago when I put carpet down in my bedroom I started online shopping for a vacuum cleaner. In the mean time I borrowed one of dads, yes, plural. He had 5 working vacuum cleaners in the house. 2 he'd put back in their original boxes so he wouldn't lose the attachments. There was a 6th one out in storage building by the garage. All I could do was walk away laughing...
