More work getting ready to pour than the pour itself.
Oh yeah, that's the thing I learned about our own concrete projects, setting up the forms and getting all the rebar properly put in place and well anchored and installing all the crawl space vents, so they don't shift during the pour are really time consumers, even using a cement mixer and pouring with a wheelbarrow seems to go fast, compared to the setup.

Setting footing forms on my last building on our project. I’m so ready to go start something different. The project is sold out I just have to finish it now and off to another chapter. We also laid sod In front of the winter storm coming in.

Poured my last set of footings on my project today. Everything I have going is sold out just have to get it built and I’m onto something new. My wife is after me to build houses but I find that quite boring unless I’m doing at least 5 or six at a time. I’m not sure I want to have that much exposure during these times. I guess I’ll look at the market and make a decision when I finish up here.

This old man is tired we rough cleaned pulled all of the masking hung doors on 2 units today it’s a total of 4000 square ft. I’ll go back in the morning and set appliances and door knobs and such. I have new owners moving in a couple of weeks. Jake brought his girlfriend to help and I was surprised how hard she worked.

Our generation don't exist anymore . No work or moral ethics .

I hate to say it ...but we're in deep doodoo.

Jim

You are so right. We've been doing interviews at work all week, had 8 lined up. One guy was late, another never even showed up, called or anything. This is a technical job that pays 70+K /year with good benifits.

It's the same thing around here. Help wanted signs everywhere. Places are paying bonuses trying to get workers. Several businesses have shut down due to no workers. My favorite Chinese place has gone to take out only and she was paying $18 an hour and still couldn't get help.
My Granddaughter drives a truck and she has drivers from other companies trying to hire her away.
A local dentist has a sign up saying they will train you to be a dental hygienist.
I've been thinking about a part time job but I really like being retired.
I tried to hire someone to help me with different jobs around the house and did not find a single person willing to work.

Hell of a day here, probably had a 100 people working on my jobs today. I have a 10,000 ft building that we are in the final stages of another 10,000ft that we are texturing sheet rock and 10,000ft we poured concrete on today and 8000ft we are doing under slab plumbing. I’m in the final year of this project and I am getting anxious to start something new. By the end of the year we will have finished this 80 home project that we have worked on for several years.
