Free Bird is still the one that gets me driving way too fast playing air guitar in the car, but "Trust" and "Gimme Back My Bullets" are favorites too. The new Skynyrd isn't anywhere near what the original version was, but they've had some good songs too...
I gotta be real. For driving music, HANDS DOWN Golden ear ring radar love That beat makes me want to go FAST!!

At one time the Gubment posted speedlimits on US freeways at 55mph
prompting these songs

I thought Gods and Guns was very good. Red, White, & Blue was as well. Different than the old stuff, but still much to the point.

Frodo, Curtis Lowe has always been a favorite of mine, needle and spoon, That Smell, Travlin Man. Too many to name really.
Here are a few others that you never here unless you look for them.

And what's probably my favorite of all. Told the wife I wanted it played at my funeral

Concerts. It’s good for a small time band when you can cheer them on at small venues…county fair etc. Had a lot of fun in high school when rock or bluegrass bands would play at the local small university.
Crack the Sky was a band from WVA and Baltimore and always put on a good show. Can be found on YouTube. Progressive rock I guess.

My favorite new Skynyrd song is this one...it helped a lot when I was trying to put myself back together after my marriage failed.

Yes, there are some songs you will remember for the rest of your life because they made a difference.
When I divorced my first wife, I was depressed and ready to shotgun myself off of the planet.
I put on those big Radio Shack headphones, cranked the volume to max, and played this song over and over until my ears bled:

I put away the shotgun and emerged a new man.:)
No, I was not the problem.
(if you play it, you have to crank the volume way up to hear the anger in the drums).

I wanted to see Mark Knopfler in concert a few years ago, but the $300 price tag was beyond my budget :(
That is scalper prices. I have a tip for you. Next time you want to go to a concert and the scalpers are asking outrageous prices
Just go lean against a tree or a wall and wait till the crowd of people have gone inside and the back up band starts to play.
The scalper is a business man he has a $20-$50. investment in some unsold tickets and the concert has started. . make him an offer well below his asking price and remind him that in about 10 minutes he is going to lose his investment

i grew up listening to skynyrd. Just didn’t go to any of their concerts. I agree, hard to pin one down as a favorite.

Like trying to pick which child you love the most. I think my favorite might be The Breeze, but that is as much because JJ Cale, another of my favorites, wrote it as well as how Skynard played it.

I know the feeling, and sorry, Frodo, those aren't scalpers prices. Stevie Nix was here a few years ago, and I have a good friend who is a huge Stevie Nix fan. She was playing in a small arena where we had seen concerts before. In fact we saw Lynard Skynard there. Cheapest seat in the house, last row, in the rafters, opposite end of the building from the stage was $425.00. I went back and checked it three times. I thought I put in the wrong quantity for tickets. Nope. One ticket - $425.00. Way to rich for my blood.

I love Mark Knofler, but I wouldn't pay that price either.

KANSAS tickets are very decent prices. Check them out, they are playing lots of places then heading to Europe.
Those old bands that have good songs, but haven't had a hit in years, the tickets are usually pretty reasonable. There's been a couple near here recently for $25 to $40 per ticket...

Nope. That was not a scalper price. Eric Clapton was the same. I've been to concerts and bought tix from scalpers. I know how they work.

black berry smoke is a great band! They put on a great show! But I have to agree that I like small venues over the big 14.00 beer concerts! No buddy is that great!!
