After work I fed my calves, gathered eggs and fed cats. Packed dishes for 3 hours. We have to be out of house on July 23 and our house scheduled for delivery on August 3. Will have to hustle to move out for 2-3 weeks and move all back! Cats, dogs and chickens may have to stay awhile with out us. Come and feed daily. Not worried, just a lot of work on my part to haul everything. May get my kids to come Saturday unless we find storage building to move in ASAP
Too bad there isn't an RV you could rent and just park on your place. Then home would still be sorta home even though your things would be in storage.

Restful day today as DH put his back out last time we went firewood cutting falling through some branches.

I spent the day getting the pantry organised and ordered bulk bread improver and prescription dry cat food that is cheaper online. Also updated the shopping list after I went through the storage room and wiped off the perpetual shopping list to start again beforehand. Also put on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine for bread for the next few days and DH hand watered the potted fruit trees with saved rain water.

Got a covid supplement payment through for DH and we banked it into our emergency fund along with 2 supplement payments I got too and now we are really close to having our 3 month living expenses emergency fund fully funded. Decided here if the interest rates on our bank emergency fund get under 1% interest we will draw it out in cash. We also have a second cash emergency fund at home as backup too.

Good news is on Tuesday everything we ordered for groceries was in stock but noticed stocks are getting lower now. We are now back up to date with everything we need to order currently and will put in another grocery order to pick up in early August.

Dinner tonight was chicken and chips in the convection oven and dessert was tinned two fruits and cream.

Glad you are on the farm now @Amish Heart and good luck with all that unpacking and organising.

What’s @Sentry18 up to? Undercover?

I am busier than a one legged man at a butt kicking contest. ;)

Because I decided my life wasn't busy enough, I took on a part time job and another volunteer role with a pro-gun group. Of course about the same time my main job decided to get a whole lot busier and I have had to spend a few days in the state capitol. Just trying to ride the rapids another 4-5 days and then I am taking the family on a 2 week vacation. We could all use it!

Hope everyone here is going well!

Burning the candle at both ends and in the middle caught up to me at 50.
First heart attack.

Was told it was stress.

Take it easy brother.

Have a good vacation.

Hope you all have a relaxing vacation when you get to it, @Sentry18 !

Already walked and got laundry on the run. Red beans are cooking in slow cooker. Still have to clean baths, make rice, boil eggs and then get hair cut at 2 pm. Later will cut okra and pick zucchini and tomatoes.

Also, take Oreo on first practice walk around yard and maybe block.

As most know I have been worried about my youngest grandchild age 15. He has been in the background most of his life by his workaholic father and his mother who tried ot make up for busy father by spoiling him then his grown sisters became main focus of his mother, one very ambitious and well organized the othrr problem child with drugs and [ loser father of 3 her] 4 children she lost now daughter has 3 other one with her father.

I worry about my grandchild who is now rebelling and stuck at home because of Atlanta Ga. gangs, 80% minority school system which is not good place for young white boy at all!Its not racist comment is is a fact.

Daughter has been searching for military or trainign type school for troubled teens. Many want $30 to $50,000 a year, yep want to escape liberal anti white bias and culture you will pay dearly.

We have hope now in this Military Academy in South Carolina which is closer to home than any of the other for visits and not too expensive like the one was in Mo. and cost $43,000 yr.:ghostly:

This one is $7000 up front, then $600mo far as we know so far.Daughter gives him ramdon drug test monthly for drugs and found pot in hist test.
Skip thriugh this and tell me what yall think,
Also tomorrow will see if Graandaughter gets back her 4 kids, and other grandaughter wedding Aug.4th. Plus daughter is taking over secretarial, accounting ,permit chasing for her hubby biz alongwith 3 young kids,so we are praying kids go back to mom tomorrow. All this and she is going through change of life too!

@Sentry18 Glad all is well and it's just that 4 letter word (busy).
Like your new pix Jim 😁
Monday, I made a run to Lewiston ID. It was so nice to see faces. I think I saw 1 mask on that side.
Yesterday, I had to go to Looneyville (Portland, OR) land of the masks even when there's nobody within 100' of you, alone in your car, or mowing your lawn 🙄 Long day!
Today, I am playing catch-up from being gone so much. Both those trips were for work - not for fun, but when I'm gone, my desk gets messy.

Thanks everyone.

I decided to make a push to retire in 2 years. I already have the time in but want to make it to the next pay grade before I turn in my papers. My part time job is to help pad the retirement savings and the Mrs. side business is also taking off and will also go help fund retirement accounts. This is really all less about retirement than it is about our kids. We have agreed not to send our kids back to public school, which means in 2 years I would be a home school teacher / house husband. Until then we will be homeschooling in the evenings and the weekends, with our oldest at home child also assisting and providing some nanny duties.

I will be sure to keep a close eye on the old ticker. :)

Been scrubbing floors the semi old fashion way.
Instead of on my hand and knees(that would hurt), sitting on my butt with scrub brush, bleach water trying to clean up whatever grand daughter spilled. Whatever it was it was sticky. Scrubbed the floor, rinsed, re scrubbed, rinsed again.
Got peppers and zucchini out of dehydrator this morning.
Granny Smith apples are in the dehydrator now.
Cleaned out the car, vacuumed it out too.
Cleaned the windows inside and out.
It will probably storm again tonight.
Still found one or two really sticky spots after I had scrubbed the floors.
So got the Hoover floor scrubber out and that on the floor.
No more sticky.

Since VA is transitioning from seeing us vets, to paying outside doctors and facilities to take over our healthcare . I'll be going to hospital in Paducah today for lab , blood work to see how the new heart meds are working on my body.
Be seeing the praticioner on Monday.

Youngest grandson called , wants to ride along.
He knows there's a free lunch in it.

I joke that unless it pulls your socks off as you walk across it, the floor doesn't need scrubbing 😂
@Sentry18 First because this is via typing/online and not in person, I want to say I mean this as a compliment not condescending and not to insult anyone who can't do so.
I am so proud of your (& wife's) decision to continue homeschooling! That is not a decision to be taken lightly or an easy task. I mentioned it to hubby last night and his response was perfect, "They'll end up as better adults for it." Anyhoo - kudos!

Did long video this morning and then walked to Hardware store to get a key made. Then walked Oreo around yard and in local street for a few minutes. He is doing very well!

Washed dog blankets and rugs. Swept house. Took eBay photos. Going to straighten top drawer in dresser and wash dogs in a little bit. I think it's about to rain so tomorrow will be an -in the garden day.

Went to hospital , 35 miles, got blood work, she stuck me good, I gave her a dating of 6 , last time it was 9.
Went for Chicago pizza for lunch...blew my diet.

Stopped by the big WM , bought all the canned whole tomatoes they had 13 cans.
Stopped by meat market got more bacon and ground beef.
Took the grandson home
Got the meats vac sealed and in freezer.
It's 4pm.

I'll be resting for a while.

Jim

Granny Smith apples are now out of dehydrator.
Yummy citrus candy is in the dehydrator.
Used the Hoover floor scrubber machine on bathroom tiles.
Looks good.
Working on Panda Bear cross stitch quilt block now.
Walked Strawberry several times today.
My feet and ankles finally went down enough that I'm not extreme pain to walk me and her.
Got a dab of dishes to do up.
Coffee is made for morning.
House smells good like citrus candy.
Got to make small Wal*Mart grocery order so grand daughter will have something to munch on when she stays the night with me this weekend. Or is it next weekend. Either way it will get eaten.
Getting tired.
I have tendency to faint when I get too hot, so trying to stay out of heat as much as possible.
VA is sending me blood pressure machine, so I can check that at least once a day.
They are also sending s/m compression knee highs to help with swelling of ankles and feet.
They will probably be changing my blood pressure medicine again.
Don't really know what's going on but I'm tired of being tired all the time.
Sleep pattern is really sucks right now too.
But I'm more concerned about the ankles and feet swelling.

We have a burger joint here called "Station Burger" they chop bacon not fine, but 3/4 " and mix it in the ground beef then cook it.

It's really good.
Yep bacon and beef.

Jim
Someone was wise when they came up with that idea. I think I want to try that with some burgers, but I will grind the bacon up and mix it with the ground beef.

After watching the video, I think our grandson , will grow in character and unlike most schools, they don't leave "God" out of their teachings either.

We live in a very friendly neighborhood. Most of us are the same age. Most of us built our houses, and are original owners in the subdivision. Over the years we have developed friendships, and have socialized together quite a bit.

The Covid 19 crisis really cramped everybody's style, so we have started to have Driveway or Mailbox parties. Everybody shows up at the designated house. Bring a lawn chair and a cooler. We can socially distance. Play some tunes through the phone or ipad, and have a nice time. Friday afternoons are the usual time and the group is between 5-10 people. It has been a nice diversion.

Does anybody else have a social diversion? This does break the monotony, and we all look forward to it.

That is so nice that you have a wonderful neighbourhood and close friendships and I think that it really helps to socialise with others be it but at a distance.

We also have good friends and neighbours here too which is nice. We went to the local pub to sell raffle tickets for the RSL club and had such a great time catching up with everyone at a distance tonight.

Had a few hot chocolates to break in the morning this morning and then DH put on a loaf of bread in the bread machine.

After a bit of a break DH washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away. I then watered the potted fruit trees with saved rainwater from our collapsible rainwater tank. We got the clean laundry we hung on the clothes line to dry last night.

I did some banking to put more money into our 3 month living expenses emergency fund and worked out we will make our goal by the beginning few days of next week when our pays come in.

We then got ready and headed to the RSL club where we had a few drinks and socialised with a few friends and had a great time and headed back home. Had an hour or so break and headed to the local club where DH and I were selling raffle tickets for the local RSL club and caught up with a few more friends which was nice.

Tonight's dinner was sausages and eggs for something a little easier.

Doogan , my rescued mutt, got in trouble, big time yesterday.
Last couple weeks I been letting him have unattended freedom for 1/2 day everyday. He does good , goes for a swim in pond, wanders through the woods, mostly hangs around the house looking for something to play with. He loves finding a pop can and shredding it... :dunno:
Loves a good stick, or a empty 1 litre plastic pop bottle to shred, but..
My wife's sits in her recliner by the front window , she jumps up and says he's got #$&+&$..I get up go to front door ,
Hes in front yard with one of her red cushions off one of her 6 rocking chairs , guess what he's doing with it. He uses his front paws like hands..he was having a ball..till I said HEY ! He knew he was in trouble. You know how they tuck their tail , cower down...after I yelled at him I put him in his pen.
He may not get as much a attended freedom for a while , as there are still 5 cushions on the chairs.

He's still a pup.
