@Patchouli You're not supposed to get sick! Get some rest and feel better please.:flower:
@Supervisor42 Just as I reminder I am on your good side :). Don't think I would want to be on that other side. The fact that I am usually cheering you on has nothing to do with it :D
@Spikedriver Good! I have heard of more hit and runs lately. What is it with people?

Some clown hit my parked car with a tractor trailer at work today. Judging by the skid mark from my right rear tire he pushed my car 6-8 feet. The only damage I've found so far is a cracked tail light cover, a couple scratches and one sprung trunk hinge. The guy tried to leave the scene as he hit another parked car and ripped most of the front end off of it but a co worker was there and blocked him in. Not only does this guy get to deal with the sheriff's department but my employer's own private police department (which has full law enforcement power) is on him too. This should be interesting before it's all said and done...
We need pictures!!!:cop:

It's OK if you disagree, don't hold back! I love a spirited discussion and greatly respect someone who presents the other side of a discussion effectively.
I pride myself on being able to discuss either view of anything and sometimes ask people to pick which one I am to take:D.

Well...that little sapling next to my door, was in front of the car when I parked...

Yeah, that clown is going to have some explaining to do. Thank God my co worker was on scene and stopped him from leaving.

Gnarly!!!
Glad the red car was yours!
My co worker on the scene said he figured the whole rear end of the car would be ruined. The truck shoved the bumper fascia up under the trunk until the trunk lid popped open. But I crawled underneath and I couldn't find any broken brackets or bolts, no bent metal, or broken plastic. There had to be some kind of force to pop the trunk open but everything is tight and lines up except that one hinge which is sprung just a little. My co worker said after he saw how tough that car is, it made him want to trade in his Chevy for a Mazda like mine...:D

@Patchouli and @Amish Heart get well soon we are thinking of you both.

@snappy1 no we purchased the spring rolls frozen but really need to learn to make them too.

@Spikedriver good your co-worker stepped in and stopped the guy and he shouldn't be able to drive with a trailer on as he clearly has not a clue how to drive or tow.

Today we had intended to plant some seeds in the garden and DH planned to cut a bit more firewood on our back boundary and we did none of it :) . Instead it rained so we decided to have a down day today and DH slept in an awkward position and put his shoulder out.

I have however filled the water up for the kangaroos, DH fed them our bread ends and I watered the garden beds with the drip irrigation system and watered the potted plants and herbs. Just did the paying of electricity bill/mortgage extra payment and depositing of money into savings/bills/electricity and grocery accounts. Glad to say we are way ahead in just about all categories. We are saving up for 2 new lounge chairs and an extendable table for the kitchen but it will depend on how much the electrical work costs to replace the 3 faulty lights and put in the 90 cm stove.

Just fed the cat and she is a happy camper and made out a list for some grocery super specials at an independent supermarket for when we go into town tomorrow. DH is making a homemade chicken, mushroom, tomato and capsicum pizza from items in storage here and dessert will be probably a little ice-cream.

Reteaching Strawberry her commands.
Slow progress.
About the earlier post of teaching grand daughter to sit on command along with Strawberry.
She now does.
Yesterday, while waiting on Strawberry to sit so we could go outside for her to potty.
Grand daughter sat on command.
So she got told she was good girl too.
Her little back got rubbed, just like Strawberry's.
Every time I told Strawberry to lay down, Grand daughter laid down too.( No nap though).
Today, Strawberry is getting extra attention because we don't have grand daughter today.
So far today all before 10 am...
Have had company, now I don't mind people coming to visit.
BUT... can you wait till I got my teeth in, shoes and socks on.
Nope, not this cousin.
Finally got teeth in, socks and shoes on, fresh coffee made.
Have had lunch, waiting on clothes to finish drying.
Tonight is Bingo.
Big pot last game is $875.00.
Have no clue what's for supper, but lunch was fried potato(1), sliced and diced red onion, clove of garlic smashed and minced, red, yellow, green, orange peppers diced. This was fried in bacon grease.
Polish Sausage cut up into 1/2 inch slices.
Yum. have enough to have some more tomorrow.

Husband left for work an hour and a half early before the gates closed for POTUS at the AFB. Traffic was so backed up, he didn't make it. SO...he came home and worked a bit and left again when the gates would be open, around lunchtime. Weird day for him.
Chores done. Filled up the dehydrator with more green beans and peppers, after unloading it of green beans. Cleaned out our big hall closet. Wednesdays have turned into my "drop things off at the thrift store day", so I better do another closet or two.

Yep! I sure do!..So much to go through around here. A lot of it is husbands, though, and I can't go through that. Waiting for a weekend where he's free and I can have him sit in a chair and bring him stuff. He's got a packed 10 x 12 room (mancave) and a packed walk in closet. I did finish his office area, though, on a day he was off, so I would know what to file, what to shred. Won't be this weekend, though, we have Hamfest and two turkeys to butcher.

Almost forgot..
Somebody is either careless or just mean.

I had 2 mail boxes down on the hwy at my entrance. Mine and my renter's.
Well they were smashed and laying in the ditch this morning

So I bought 2 new ones and remounted those .
Oh yeah , it was only 96 degrees today and high humidity.

I hate people ...except y'all.:huggs:

You should talk to Spikedriver's boss. Sounds like he has a pretty good set up for those sorts of folks.
Today after work, came home used some elk steak to make Swiss steak for dinner. While it was simmering, I made some homemade ice cream. I make it with honey rather than sugar and its yum.

Went into town today to get DH's medical examination to send to DVA to continue his pension. They have brought out yet another wonderful idea , make all vets get a doctor to still deem them disabled to collect their pensions, like that is going to save them time or money. I think they think they can get vets off payments and back to work which is okay for the able bodied ones but trouble is most injured ex vets are unable to work like DH. Anyway done for another 6 months.

We then went to Aldi and picked up more baking sheets, drying racks, and more measuring cups and spoons in Aussie metric. We then went to IGA where we noticed they had chicken drumsticks on special at our buy price so we bought 11.71 kg @$3 kg to top up the chicken drawer with as they are usually $4 - $5 kg. We also picked up on special DH's sensitive razors, 3 x 2lt BBQ sauces on half price sale and DH's other favourite bacon and cheese rolls for half price.

Next stop was the discount variety store where I found envelopes I was running low on for a lot cheaper and some travel tissues.

Made it home again after clipping a kangaroo with no damage to the car as we were driving later in the afternoon near sunset as DH couldn't get and earlier appointment. Packed the chicken drumsticks in the fridge until tomorrow when we will pack all the groceries away. DH has watered all the gardens and potted herbs and fruit trees.

Same.

When I retire I should set up a social media account where I just shame people. I will call it "The Digital Stocks" and post pics and videos of people being depraved and stupid. Like knocking down mailboxes and taking off.

It's hard to say for sure who got my mail box.
I usually keep one or two ready in the garage, but not this time.
It happens at least once a year.

I had a farmer come back to my house and offer to pay for them last year. He couldn't avoid it cause oncoming vehicle.
But, teenage boys have also done the entire road.

I buy the cheapest ones I can ...

Hubby made ours. lol if they want to play mailbox baseball with ours they're in for a surprise and ricochet bat bouncing off of it. Mailbox baseball is an annual event in these parts. They've also tried to destroy it with firecrackers lol nope. didn't work. He used 5/16" x 6" angle and welded them together to make the box. Some around here have taken metal pipes and elbows and made cages around their box they got so fed up with it happening. Others just rebuilt using brick and placing it around the box

Today I'm doing up some laundry. I thought I had 3 chops in the pack I thawed but I only had 2 so I'm making some pork stew
And then sometime today I plan on going outside and enjoying the beautiful weather we're having today

Mailboxes make inviting targets for stupidity. I used to work the 3-11 shift and I came home at midnight to find .22 caliber bullet holes in my mailbox a couple times...but the worst was the dry ice bombs. A 2 liter bottle with a little dry ice and a little water, then the lid is screwed on tight. Kids put them in mailboxes and after the gas pressure builds up inside for a couple minutes, boom! They'll blow a mailbox apart...

Laws won't allow us to put up brick or steel structure for mail box, as it's a danger hazard to normal traffic , so close to road.

I looked into that years ago.

Good thing, when the hwy Dept knocks them down...they replace them. That happened once also.

Jim

How about exploding dye packs? Then whoever or whatever hits it can be dayglo pink for a month or so.

That would work , if for no other reason than pee them off.

I even considered setting up my trail cam...
For once a year event, and thousand cars passing by....nah.

I just don't have an easy solution.

At the farm, Pops put his mailbox on a spring loaded hinge. Whenever something hits it, it just swings out of the way. Then you just go out and re-set it. Won't solve the kids who hit the box with ball bats, but it helps with the maintenance vehicles and the stupid drivers...
