I just watched TopGun II.
Penny was great in the movie, a good fit for the movie.
Penny played by Jenifer Connelly, who is a classic Beauty, Only good thing in that disaster of a Hulk movie.
She was on fire in Reinventing the Abbotts, Liv Tyler was good also in Inventing the Abbotts (1997) .
You may hate the new TopGun, but I liked it, never happen in real life or why watch it.
But it was good as far as I am concerned, no nude scenes, not a lot of cussing, I do not remember any.

Recorded Game 2 of the UT/ND baseball game this afternoon. Finally finished watching it. Tied 1-1, game 3 is tomorrow. GO VOLS

Now got a binge watch of the old NICS going. Ziva and Tony were still on the show. It's just not as good now.

Watching 'JAWS' on the 65" curved screen, it's good to see my TV survived all the relocation efforts... nice picture, sure beats watching skate videos on the laptop, lol. Got everything hooked up alright, except I might need new batteries in some of the remotes. Got batteries, can't be bothered with 'em right now. Tonight, I just watch this classic flick with the soundbar & subwoofer cranked manually... works for me! Shark just attacked the boat, time to log out, lol. Cheers!!!

Over the last week I watched both “Band of Brothers” and “Pacific”, have them on dvd. Both are great. Last year when I got “Pacific” I watched it after BndofBro’s. I wasn’t that impressed, just wasn't as good as BofB. Some of the relationships with women seemed contrived, made up for ratings.

This time I watched the bonus dvd first… old interviews with several of the men, two of them wrote books. It turns out the all the stories were true. One young marine brought his Australian wife to Texas, raised 4 kids.

This time it was so much better, knowing it's really the stories of 3 marines... Over all, the guys who fought in the pacific fought a horrific war compared to Europe. Don't get me wrong, war is hell, period. What those guys faced were maniacs who would not surrender. When John Basilone won the CMH at the Canal... 2 small sections of machine gunners faced 3000 Japanese. When it was over only 3 people were left alive on either side, John Basilone and 2 other marines.

Anyway, both are great mini-series, undoubtedly the best war films since Saving Private Ryan. I'm glad I spent the cash.

Tonight I watched “Smokey and the Bandit”. Haven’t seen it in years… The funny parts were still funny. Jackie Gleason makes the movie.

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.

Pretty good. Based on a true story. A feel good, inspiring movie. The main characters are likable, and moral in situations that put pressure on morality. A pretty safe recommendation to watch. (But, much of it requires subtitles...not a problem for me, but I know many people don't like that.)

And yet, it is rather shocking to think that this could still be a thing in the 2000's. After all, wind pumps were used as early as the 9th century, and fairly sophisticated ones were pretty common in the US by the late 1800's. A real wake up call to think that the Third World could be many centuries, even a millenia, behind us in technology.

Might start in on 'THE EXPENDABLES' trilogy tonight. Hollywood cheese, I know, but I haven't had any in... what? Eight months? With my TV and entertainment center not hooked up all that time? I gots some catching up to do, lol... same way a bacon-starved inmate FINALLY gets a shot at the good stuff, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Dang, that's just wrong...

Another option is 'WE WERE SOLDIERS'---I haven't seen that in a while. With all the home rehab work going on, I feel like watching some rounds get fired, lol. I'd fire a few myself here at the ol' hacienda, but THAT would only make more WORK, and I have enough of that to do ALREADY, lol. Ya just can't WIN with home rehab, AYE??? ;)

I also need to figure out what to eat... chili with shredded cheese melted on top, and buttered French bread? A green salad on the side? Or do I go with frozen pizza? Leftover stir fry? I already had a homemade carne asada burrito for brunch, so I reckon I'll save the last one of those for later. If I'm gonna watch a Vietnam flick, stir fry & rice might be the way to go.

I'm tellin' y'all, this bachelor life is a [censored] job, but SOMEBODY has to do it!!! Lol. Maybe I'll just flip a coin twice, once for dinner and once for entertainment. When you're pulling home rehab, ya reach a point where ya just want something quick & easy, ya know? I'll catch up to the health food later... right now I want another Coors stubby, lol. CHEERS!!!

A hot air balloon out our front window. It's going up, about dusk - very pretty.

I like watching them, have never seen a big group take off though. Long ago I was staying at a hotel, working in seattle wa. In the field behind it they launched hot air balloon rides for tourists. Cool to see, no desire to fly again but maybe a balloon ride.

I saw a couple bits of the show “Yellowstone” when it first came out, not even an episode. Saw season 1 in a discount bin and bought it a couple weeks ago.

These people make the Sopranos look like alter boys. I’m surprised anyone was left alive in Montana for season 2.

The liberal “stink” was all over the show. But, the scenery and music are great… and there’s cows, so I guess I’d watch it if the series comes out in a dvd box set. I'll wait til then.

And since when is a “season” 9 episodes? Many shows have 15-20 episodes in a season. Sort of felt cheated on the discount dvd.

Watched 'They Call Me Trinity' last night, still funny as ever... Terence Hill is great in those movies, and his brother Bambino (Bud Spencer) is also hilarious! Good Spaghetti Western for light comedy, the other Trinity movies feature Hill repeatedly slapping gunfighters while drawing their weapons... ridiculous slapstick humor, I know, but still hilarious! 🤣

News, waiting on DC to start burning. the lefties are screaming like raped apes because Roe V wade got nixed! Watch as the police get pulled back and told to let them get it out of their systems and Judges houses get trashed.

It's Friday, reckon I'll watch another Spaghetti Western... one of the Trinity sequels, most likely, I'm in the mood for light entertainment to offset the dreary news of the world. I can only take so much "progressive" socialist BS before I reach for the flush lever, lol. ;)

Two new shows on cable.

"Dark Winds" on AMC, it’s a psychological thriller set on the Navajo Reservation in 1971. Good show! There’s been a murder, tribal police and the feds involved. Watching the 3rd episode now, scenery is great if you like desert. It's filmed on the Rez.

"The Old Man" on FX. It’s about a cia guy (jeff bridges) who went native in Afganistan in the 80's. Hunted by the cia then vanished. All these years later… Now the cia is after him again. And he’s on the run. It’s a little intense but an excellent show! Great action, very well written.

Tropic thunder. I think I laughed twice.
Some terminator thing that was so great I forgot the name of it.

The "Tour de France" started yesterday. Stage 1 had a surprise finish. Then today a surprise won stage 2. I hope there is more great racing during the next 1954 miles. I think it'll be aired on USA network, a new stage each morning.

Tonight I watched "The Green Mile", Have it on dvd but hadn't watched it in ages, excellent movie.

The long riders, it has a lot of old actor, when they where young.
