I am making Chicken Tortilla Soup, only instead of using tortilla chips we take low carb tortillas, wipe them with olive oil, sprinkle them with salt, and bake them until they are crispy. We also add a little hominy and black beans, along with lots of chicken, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, onion, cilantro, and eventually Monterrey jack cheese.

Creamy chicken, cheese, and vegetables soup. Been in the slow cooker most of the day on low, just need to add the veggies and cook another 3 hours or so.

Me, too, Peanut. I was just talking about this to my daughter yesterday. Saw the tiniest little figs at our local grocery for $3.99 a lb. I remember being able to pick and eat them, the big ones, from our neighbor's tree when I was growing up in California. Sadly, we don't have those kinds of trees here. But I always get fig jam.

Gonna throw some pinto beans in the crock pot, along with some onions, bell pepper, a couple chopped jalapenos, mushrooms, and a chunk of ham, let 'em slow cook all day...up until maybe 5-6 PM. Make some cornbread to go with it.

I have the same salt and pepper tupperware shakers! lol

Yesterday we had baked cod, mac and cheese and peas and carrots

Today I'm making a taco impossible pie ( basically a bisquick quiche lol)

@WVDragonlady @Terri9630

There are 3 bedrooms in the downstairs Duplex where my grandparents lived. When I moved in around 2000 a lot of my grandmother’s kitchen items were still here including Tupperware salt & pepper shakers.

The pepper shaker was sort of a dark blue color and the salt shaker was semi-clear. They were coated with 30 years of kitchen grease and grime. There was no cleaning them. I tried every cleaner imaginable. I even let them soak in bleach a few days to no avail. However, the stand/holder did clean up nicely.

I had a cousin order me new shakers and a few other things… I use the new shakers with the old stand. I sort of like the green color. I’ve never seen orange shakers.

Think I'll make another pot of Brunswick Stew! I'll freeze some of this batch to thaw out when I don't feel like cooking.
