I helped DH with a shower in hospital, yesterday. He had pretty rough breathing afterwards. I hope they keep him through the weekend, so he doesn't end up having to come right back. Give him a chance to breathe normally.

Today, I have to run to local grocery for chicken and sweet potatoes for dogs.
Walk.
Make DH's bed after washing sheets, yesterday.
Walk dogs.
Cut carrots for dog treats.
Declutter a few junk drawers.
Hope to go to Bible study this evening since I skipped yesterday's.

I've had multiple head scratching moments and laughs due to the slang aardvark being used here. I used to work with a teamster who referred to our Kenworth T-600 trucks as aardvarks, probably because of their long sloped hoods. Because of the member in question's trucking history I assumed that was the connection and wondered how a post about them could be controversial. Then I remembered, I had a gym coach that referred to boys who hadn't undergone the procedure traditionally performed on a Jewish baby boy's 8th day as aardvarks and wondered if someone got in trouble for posting their nether regions (which would definitely be scandalous). Hearing it as a verb makes me assume that it refers to skedaddling from a site and that makes the most sense... Isn't it funny how the english language works?

Getting thru this mornings bad headache. Grandson is smoking junk again, and then spraying cologne. It hit me like a wall when I came to the front room this morning. I threw out the cologne. I ran my hand above his clothes closet to see if there were drugs up there, and my hand went into a sticky mess of resin of some kind he's smoking. That'll teach me. Animal chores done, rabbit cages cleaned, dogs walked. I have some arranging to do in food storage. Going to my cousin's after supper tonight to listen to a traveling bluegrass band.

Hope you have a great evening!! Good call tossing the cologne!! Five more months??!!

Mostly good today.

The grape vine that started to break yesterday is indeed developing a leaf. A second is getting close and two more putting out a bud. Good.

My buddy that was having trouble with his water heater figured out how to clear a clog in the input line. So I was off the hook to run n fetch it for him. Good.

Started to work on the plumbing project and actually cut PEX and assemble sections. Good.

This part of the project involves work in The Hobbit hole The Princess has been waiting on.

The connections have to be installed in the tiny corner to the right of the safe.

There are HVAC ducts, water lines, and electrical already in there that I need to work around.

I managed to fit a prototype section through the wall beside the duct to the left and out through the hole to the right. Good... but...

I knocked over a folding tray The Princess had a tray on dumping coffee on the carpet at her feet. I grabbed old towels to soak it up but... she was in the middle of a Zoom call answering a question at the time. I violated the rule of not appearing in the background during a Zoom meeting. That was bad.

Recovered and started duplicating the prototype piping. Used up what was left of one roll of PEX and will break out another one tomorrow.

A good day overall.

Tomorrow more plumbing and the widgets I need are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.

Counting my blessings.

Ben

Not sure where you work but it sounds like a hardware store? If it is Home Depot by chance, shoot me a private message. I know the CEO personally and I'm sure he would want to know what you have dealt with.
PM sent. I will begin looking for another job, maybe Family Dollar is hiring. :Dancing Chicken::ghostly::brewing: LOL

I just spent 3 hours cooking Indian food and ate 2 plates....now I am so stuffed I don't want to do anything ( like doing the huge pile of dishes)
Made spicy dal, cauliflower and potato curry, rice and mango chutney
I love Indian food. There are several who have buffets for lunch. I go in and get food to go. They give me a full size styrofoam container and a smaller one. For $15.99, I get enough food for 4 meals, including some fresh naan.

Funeral today, started late, which affected the dogs on hold, waiting for me to get them and take them to the dog park for play time. Funeral was sad. Woman was 57 and was found deceased by her uncle whose home she was staying in. She was getting ready to travel to Belize and Bali. She left behind her mother and 3 sons. Youngest are twins, 19 years old. She was divorced.

Do men still wear after shave or cologne? I honestly don't know. I stopped wearing either when I stopped getting it as christmas gifts. Maybe it's an age thing.

Not a lot done today. Got a Dan Tyminski cd in the mail (he's the guy actually singing "Man of Constant Sorrow" while gClooney pretends to sing in the obrother movie.) He's a great bluegrass guitar player, solid, never misses a note. He's on his own now but still preforms sometimes with alison krauss and union station.

I listened to the cd, great bluegrass, exactly what I expected. He does 2 songs written by Ron Block. Ron also played with union station.

Anyway, more music tonight... cold and miserable outside.

136 more days, Pearl.
Ha, Peanut, I was thinking about the Soggy Bottom Boys this evening. We went to my cousin Jay's barn and about a dz of us listened to the Foggy Memory Boys and their bluegrass. Great music and a great time. They go to Lawrence, KS, then to KC, then keep moving eastward. They come from Taos.

OH's van refused to turn over as he was leaving work last night. I had a day of taxi-ing lined up for today, but classes and work have been cancelled for my kids so I only have one journey to make. I can use daughter's car, OH took mine. Still sorting invoices for the accountant. Also feeling embarrassed; I told the library I had returned a book over Christmas in the drop box, and they accepted that, as I've had some issues before. But when I checked again today I found it in a bag I keep for library books! I'm mortified. I must have thought I did it, I remember collecting the book, and the same day the copy I bought arrived in the post, as I needed it for college. I thought that can go back tomorrow, and then... :dunno: did I tell you husband bought home a new dog? Sort of a rescue/ unwanted. Full story and photos to follow! He's pretty handsome, but needs training.

Edit: The dog I mean; husband is trained!

Getting going earlier this morning...I'll do the animals with a headlight on, get the girls to school, come back and make husband breakfast, and then I need to be at my favorite cousin's place by 9. It's her daughters birthday, and it's a ladies coffee break. I'm bringing the chocolate basket, and I'm sure there will be cheese curls, too.

Off today, I let the chores pile up so I am doing house work... The wife is feeling better, she has been able to get up with me in the mornings (she is not happy with that!) and do a little before her lights go out. It's funny, she has been waking up without an alarm for the last 3 days, she comes into the kitchen as I am eating my breakfast and looks at me with that "I'm not Happy" look. Then she say's," You do this every morning, on purpose?"

She's trying to make a grocery list now, being down for 6 weeks has her scratching her head trying to get a handle on what we need.

Oh, I finished my waffle mix experiment: My final measurements for serving of ME... 2/3 cup of the complete mix, 2/3 cup (not full) of water, two cap fulls of oil. Utensils used, 1 quart jar, 1- 2/3 measuring cup, the waffle iron, a knife, a fork, and a plate. If necessary I could skip the knife, but it works well for mixing the batter in the jar, and it helps when adding butter. ;)
For me this was important for identifying something that could be easily (and inexpensively) added to my mid-term (1-5 year) food storage without using the freezer or requiring milk and eggs.... I do need to get some air tight containers for storing the mix when I get it.

I will wear it when I wear my good jeans and my cowboy boots. I even wore it Halloween when I dressed up as a Drifter when passing out candy. To clarify, that would include the past few Halloweens, the work Christmas party this past year, a funeral a couple years ago, and for that one other occasion.
Other than that it just messes up the odor of hard work and well earned sweat.

I finished separating and sorting lambs yesterday. Was a noisy night of milk hungry youngsters and milk bag stressed mommas.

Today, gotta tag everyone going to auction. Then load this evening so they're ready to go early tomorrow morning for 1.5 hour trip to auction. Prices have been volatile this year. It looked like a steady up trend until two weeks ago and reversed course. Then reversed course again. Not sure what to expect? Last year, I topped the auction at 3.15. Another good looking bunch this year. Did my part best I could, the rest is outta my control?

I discovered an economical solution for the farm truck battery going dead intermittently. It seemed that the key switch was not totally shutting off every single time. Instead of the expense and headache to replace that, I bought a twelve dollar battery isolation switch through eBay. That appears to be working great since I last started it at 23 degrees and it cranked harder than before?

DH seems to be improving a little and actually sounded a little better last night. He still thinks he will be there through the weekend and I hope he is correct.

Today, I will make sweet potato treats for the pups.
Cut up carrots for pups.
Walk.
Continue de-cluttering.

Congratulations on your new niece, @hashbrown !

Hubby wears cologne occasionally. There was a couple in the grocery store a while back, they both had some "stink" on, too much together!!

Reminds me of my college days, there were some Spanish girls who wore so much of the stuff (Perfume) you could see the vapor cloud in the bright Arizona sunlight... Every time those girls passed by they left me breathless.... not in a good way...

It's good to brush up on the training, make sure they don't forget anything!!😉😃

Yeah lamb prices lately have not been as good as last year. We still did well with a few goats we sent to the auction.
How many lambs do you have?
We don't have any born yet this year ( due in 2 weeks) but still have some nice big ones from last year we are taking to the meat processor in April, plus some to the auction
