Hmm. Some pipes I've looked at on line from reputable vendors sell cherry pipes. I'll have to dig deeper into this
Well, it's in the leaves and bark for sure! Perhaps they're fully cured or something?
I'm going to do an MK2 version of mine with a stainless steel bowl.

Overheard the 8 year old granddaughter tell my wife that she wants to smoke a pipe and drink scotch. Where do kids hear these things?

I am in no way condoning bad behavior, but you might want to give her a sip of scotch, and see if she still wants to drink it. That might cure her of that thought. :barf:

My niece (who is 21) begged me to make Brandy Alexanders. I wish I had a picture of her face when I had her taste Brandy (just a little sip) for the first time. Priceless.

I dont know. I begged my grand dad to smoke his cigar when I was 3 or 4. He gave me a draw, which I promptly inhaled. Wasnt long I was puking. Mother and mamaw both got so mad at him. He told them I wouldn't stop asking. But then I started having and occasional one with him about 10 years later.

BTW Pearl, I drink Brandy not Scotch. 🤣🤣

That's probably a good idea. I might get a really bad cigar and let her try that too.
My grandfather smoked Wolf Bros Rum Soaked Crooks. I never seen him without a cigar in his mouth. Even after he got cancer. He did quit smoking, but he started chewing the cigar instead. I'm pretty sure he died with a cigar in his mouth. As a you boy I thought he was coolest man I ever knew.

The Black Labels are in my top 3.
1 Oliva Melanio
2 CAO BX3
3 Partagus Black Label
2 & 3 could flip flop on a given day
Only thing about the 6x60 Black Labels, I've got to have a meal prior to smoking. Got a hell of a rush on an empty stomach once. If you see one in a store pick it up and compare the weight to another 6x60. It is significant.

Decided to hit the porch tonight. I had a Tabernacle Goliath begging to be smoked.

After eating Mexican I went to our local cigar shop. Had a good talk with some guys there. Smoked a Brickhouse Connecticut Robusto. Came back home and decided 70 degrees was to good to pass up. Broke out a Padron 1926 #2. Not bad, but for the price I was expecting a lot more. Oh well I can say I tried it. Not bad, just not what I expected. I've got 2 more in the humidor ill let age a while.

What did you think of the Brickhouse? They carry them at our cigar shop, but I didn't care for them. Maybe the one I had wasn't the best, but I never tried another.

I like them pretty well. I'm generally a Maduro guy, but I like the Brickhouse Connecticut. Good change of pace for me.

Question for the group. Has anyone tried a line named DBL? I just found another shop in town that apparently has been there a while. Anyway the carry the DBL line, in several different models. I picked up 3 various sticks to try. One has some fire cured in it. Not totally like the KFC does, but enough to give a great aroma and it taste good too. Today they are having a rolling deal there. 2 guys will make your cigars in front of you, you pick the blend from what they have. I'd like to go for a bit, but not looking like that'll happen

I have not tried DBL. I will check to see if my guy carries them.

Yesterday I bought some cheap cigars, really cheap cigars. One was called Dirty Rat, another was Blondie and one was FLVR Fist Bump. I'll try one out later today.

You never know. You might get a nice surprise. I think the first cigars I smoked were Ozark Crooks. They were probably horrible, but we were kids. What did we know?
