Yesterday I worked down town in the big city and fell off the wagon, I ate like a pig on a see food diet.... Got home with an upset stomach and my acid re-flux came back, went to sleep in a chair after skipping supper...

I've got to figure out this eating away from the house thing. I have to work down town again tomorrow and I don't want to do a repeat.....

I ordered the New Life Promise program (Isabel Price) to get me going. I haven't been able to get m6 head in line with my actions. I have the digital material but not the hard copies yet. I've been reading through what I have trying to get psyched up to start this program. I had a pretty major surgery two weeks ago and still have a week to go before I clean, cook, or do laundry and 4 weeks to go before I can do any exercise besides a stationary bike or walking. Anyway, I'm hoping with the program this lady has laid out and leaning on the Lord for help I'll be able to get back to a healthy eating mindset.

I lost 7lbs recently (and 7lbs before that) by doing some heavy lifting, moving sacks of compost and stuff in the garden.
I do that sort of thing every day doesn't help me lose weight because my body is used to it. I have to cut out calories but it hasn't been that hard, I just cut out the junk at night. But, only losing a pound a week pretty consistantly, so it takes a long time

good luck and hope you feel better soon!

I went through all my old pants last night. I was honestly able to fit both of my legs into just one pant leg of some of those pants. I ended up using 4 trash bags to collect all the unused, oversized pants, and they weighed out at over 150 pounds in clothes that is going to Goodwill. I also was able to cut and resize 7 different belts that no longer fit me. I had a ridiculous amount of leather from cutting off 4"-6" off all the belts.

I found this removal of my fat clothes is my biggest reward of 8 months of exercise. Some of the pants had never been warn, so I wonder how much money I threw away? Maybe $1500?

week 10 day 6

I was going to make sushi today but forgot to marinate the salmon, so that will be tomorrow
today Phad Thai and eggrolls. I am going to make extra eggrolls and see if they freeze ok
plus definitely soup today, going to try cream of cauliflower soup
I know a gal who makes and freezes egg rolls. She says her secret to a good freeze is to wrap them in wax paper and good freezer bags after they cool. Her's are crispy (enough) even reheated in the microwave!

We ate some of them but the rest I put on this and in the freezer, then when frozen, I wrapped them in plastic and put them in a freezer bag. We will see how they heat up. I am thinking they could be put in microwave for a minute and then in the oven so they stay crispy

week 10 day 7

making sushi today, plus soup but have nothing to make miso with so I need to figure out what soup might go with sushi, probably egg drop

another pound down, so now I have 13 lbs left to go. It sure is taking a lot of time. So far it has taken my about 3 month to lose 12 lbs ( I started over with the count on the new year) . I think I need to do some more crash diet days, but that really didn't make me loose much more either. Seems like my body can only lose 1 lb a week no matter what I do
The good thing is that I am eating pretty much what I want

Greek food is SO good! I went out last night with a good friend, who will be our next Senator. We went to a Greek restaurant. I had a Greek salad, hummus, pita bread, those little balls of tasty goodness, along with a shish kabob with flat iron steak, onions, bell pepper, and tomatoes. It was great!

if you ever visit Florida, and want to have the best Greek food , visit Tarpon Springs. We went there at least once a year just to go walk around and go out to eat, and usually buy some Greek wine

Anyone else want to lose weight? Maybe we can encourage each other....
If not and this thread just takes up space feel free to tell me to delete it ( mods?)

So I have decided to not eat between the hours of 6PM and 10 am. The evening hours are when I eat the junk, and we take care of the animals in the morning so no breakfast. I had a piece of toast with peanut butter around 11

I am also trying something my parents and grandparents did as regular part of the meal: have a bowl of soup before the main course. This is how my mother and grandmother made it: chicken broth, a handful of noodles, a handful of oatmeal, a chopped carrot, a chopped celery or leak, some parsley, salt, pepper and 1 egg
I did this today and am really full. Main meal was chicken, potatoes and salad ( lettuce with homemade dressing)
Dessert will be 1 of the pastries I forgot yesterday.
( I spent most of the morning cleaning the barn, so used up a lot of calories most likely, so 1 piece of pastry will be fine)

I will make grits around 5.30 for evening meal. Maybe put some bacon in it. That will be it
