Today has gone well. I moved a cucumber plant out to the greenhouse because I didn't think it was getting enough light. I planted a large (6") cup of San Marzano tomatoes and Zucchini Squash seeds. I planted 2 bare root raspberry plants in 12" containers, they will be my next indoor experiment. I also moved a couple of lettuce plants from the greenhouse to the kitchen :).

I need to sift some soil to amend my container potato plants, but right now everything outside is just mud.

Very little gardening for me this year.
Might be able to do a few things but not like usual

I should be able to bend over to plant the sweet potato slips buy the time its ready (april)
Do only what keeps your heart happy.

Starting to put my tomato plants in the ground (God Bless SE Texas).. I have eggplant, peppers, some greens and various flower seeds started. The fig tree is going in the ground this year, we got a few figs off of her last year in a big pot. The pomegranates and Elderberry are ready to go into the ground. About to start my squashes .. We get plently of hot weather, so no rush! Taters in the ground, but not up yet.. got a late start on them. Itchin' to plant my okra. It doesn't do any good to try to plant them early.. they just won't do anything until it's stupid hot. So I'll wait a bit. Happy 2024 Gardening everyone!

I’m freaking jealous! All of you warm weather folks are already planting stuff out that I can’t even imagine planting for another two months. I’m still waiting for my peppers to finish sprouting in the seed trays at this point. Cold weather seeds will go in the ground about the end of the month. Potatoes might be around the same time. We should have some carryover kale, turnips, and cauliflower by then also and asparagus a couple weeks after that. Otherwise we are still eating the canned vegetables for a few more months!

No no no the 1970’s were not hideous. You are mistaken. They were

LOL! I have to say the sideburns and disco will always have a place in my heart, but the decor - yeah, hideous. This is the wall in my bedroom.

It has to go!

I did finally get some seeds started, one flat each of tomatoes and peppers; another of herbs and one of flowers. Plan to do more but glad to have made a start.
The new greenhouse looks small on the pallet; haven't made any progress with it yet, had to get going on splitting wood for the new woodstove instead.

That’s not so bad. At least it’s neutral. Weren’t there dish towels with that design too?

More peppers sprouting 😍

Up potted about 40 seedlings today. I realized some of the six packs that we seeded were done by little granddaughter and neighbor boy Levi. I set out the seed pkts, markers, told them to tag their packs that they plant. So today I'm uppotting, and they are labelled...tomatoes, pepper, squash. No type. No variety. I guess I'll be surprised!
About 1/4 of the way done with the uppotting, hope to finish this week.

One of my tomatoes is Mystery Maters. I named them that because I saved seeds about 10-15 years ago and they are good tomatoes so I keep seeds and keep them going. 🥴

Got Everything Covered before Sun Down Yesturday, Sorry, no pics...!!! Gonna leave Them Covered Up til 2morrow around Noon...!! Hopefully this will bee the Last of Our Chill...! Mother Nature is Pretty when She Warms Up...

Its the ones in bags that are cheaper than potted trees. $15 each..i am going to cut tops out and change cultivar types with scion i have in refrigerator.

TSC... hmmmm, that's where I got the 8 Lilac Bushes from...!!!

My garden will be smaller this year.
Got seeds planted.
Just don't have the engery back yet.
But the flower pot gardens are planted with Sage, Thyme, Rosemary, Ciltrano, herbs I use all the time.
As for the wash tubs gardens we got peas, carrots and potatoes planted in one.
Second one we have Eggplant, radishes and lettuce planted.
Inside we have tomatoes, peppers planted.
Monday is supposed to be 39*F.
We will see if anything makes it.

We've had so much going on I don't feel like I'm "into" it right this year. I planted 2 more maters in the ground today. I keep telling myself that even if I only plant 2 plants a day, in 30 days, I'll have planted 60 plants.. so I'm doing ok. LOL.

Today I transplanted a cup of lettuce and harvested 3 nice sized plants. We had taco's using lettuce, onion, and tomatoes from the growing stations. My indoor Raspberries have grown over a foot, the outdoor ones have yet to wake.

and discovered that they are certified organic, USDA certified, product of Canada? Well if they can grow them up there I should be able to grow them in the lower 48!

Yes.. I know the lower part of British Columbia along the Washington border is quite the truck garden area.. Much fruit and produce from there.. I had neighbors who would visit relatives in that area and bring back a pickup load of peaches, pears, blueberries, and such.. MOST WONDERFUL..

Clem... Details about the Okanogan.. I believe you aren't that far from there ? Much closer than I was..

Because my growing stations have limited vertical space I pruned some of my greenhouse tomato plants, I had watched a video of a guy pruning and at the end he made the trimmings grow new plants. So I tried it and now I got roots :). The plants that I trimmed back have all grown a number of suckers, still waiting to see if they will fruit or not...
