Old barns are reminders that if you build it right the first time you will never have to rebuild it later.
 
Well Jim I think you just found mine. I love that one, location in particular. Wife even liked it.

I picked that one, because it is almost identical to my grampas, and several uncles and family , back when I was a kid. A lot of them were built alike.
And set way away from the house....the smell of pigs, cows, and mules ya know..

Jim, what about the old tobacco smoking barns back there?

Oh yeah , I live in KY, those old tobacco smoking barns are still around and still in use.
Tobacco growers are fewer now than they were 20 years ago.

I know of at least 6 around me , I'll try to get some pics...but it's better when they ere smoking.

Well now Jim you are just teasing me. Not much of that barn shows, but it is a cantilever style. Hand down my favorite. I know you've saw the 2 in Cades Cove. Nothing better than those made out of huge Tulip Popular's. I'd like to take one of them and make a house out of it.
