My sister lives in the desert in Arizona. Javalinas are all over her place. They eat everything!

We have lots them down here in the desert, I just hadn't seen any up on "our" mountain. Guess I shouldn't have been surprised, they are like mice. Everywhere you don't want them tearing up the place.

We don’t have any javelinas up this way, although some areas reportedly have issues with feral hogs. I have never seen or heard any evidence of even those though, it’s always someone knows someone’s friend who saw them.
where do you live? I’m just outside of Tulsa and have never seen a feral hog, either.

I'll send you some. They stink, tear up everything and taste awful. Oh, an they are mean. Especially if there are young in with them. I lost a pony when I was a kid. She couldn't get away and they gutted her.

no thanks we have enough problem critters

Have the dehydrator filled with mixed veggies, and a roast sliced up and marinating for beef jerky. That goes in next. Finished a dozen or so cakes in a mug yesterday. Getting ready to get chores done. We're either going to go to the museum in town today, or to a movie. It all depends on how well hubby gets around with the walker and how he feels. It's usually a great day to do this, as everyone else is home watching tv. No superbowl party here, but everyone still wants the dinner snacks. I'll be making roast beef nachos, jalapeno poppers, chicken wings...
Hoping to get some soap made with a kit I bought, Never made it before. Our granddaughter bought a calligraphy pen yesterday, so I've been helping her with beginning lettering. Next week is a killer at work, I need to be in by 6, as my morning opener will be on vacation on week. Long days ahead.
Take heart young lady, a week's not long. Especially when it's over! Lol

Not doing much today as I don't feel real well. Have to vacuum and call a friend or two. Maybe write an eBay draft or so. Pull ingredients together to make and can chicken noodle soup tomorrow.
Pray you feel better soon. This is a killer flu going around! Take care.

I went through the freezer in the house. I took all the miscellaneous frozen meat and put it in a basket in the freezer outside. Then I tossed all foods that were freezer burnt and we'll never eat. All the foods for the kids that I keep in the freezer went in to a basket for easy access. The freezer looks bare. To be honest with the deep freeze the house freezer should only be used for making ice and as transition for the kids' frozen foods. Maybe ice cream in the summer.

I am pounding away at the laundry and the dishes.
It's never over is it? Chores just rotate!
I got all the bills paid except one from the VA, haven’t been there in 6 months so why are they sending me a bill? I find bills that don’t fit in the envelope provided really annoying. Almost as bad as medical bills in general. These days you have to pay everyone involved individually and half of them work for someone out of state. I got a bill from a doctor group in florida, haven’t been to florida in 30 years, so who am I paying and why?
I feel your pain!

Framed up the walls and ceiling inside my garage for the shop area. Now I'm beat.
We like pictures. Are you taking any?

Our pastor is out with the flue, so we had no P.M. service. Sooo, I started the temporary well house so I can get the water purification system installed. Got a good start on it but didn't complete it. Tomorrow I'm going to finish(hopefully) tearing down a building to recycle into our new home.

@gumpy ... man with a plan ... go for it bro
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail! At least I usually have a starting place. But like Lovelace (no, not that one) "The best well laid plans of mice and men oft go astray"!

I am going to pretend to be innocent and not know what you mean by Lovelace, I don’t want a sore throat

For those of you who don't get the above joke about the other "Lovelace" ;)

From wikipathica
Linda Susan Boreman, more commonly referred to by her onetime stage name Linda Lovelace, was an American pornographic actress famous for her performance in the 1972 hardcore porn film Deep Throat.

I'm resting after doing 3 months work in about a week. Sometimes temper tantrums are good to get you moving.
Want to see a woman get really busy ,just peeve her off,:D;)

I've already been to get milk, pay the water bill and to the Post Office to ship. Chicken soup is on! Used almost all fresh veggies and garlic. Dishwasher is washing and drying and heating jars right now. PC is ready to go! I think I'll wait until tomorrow for laundry.

I was going to cut my roses back this month but just saw a calendar that said do it in March?! Any one know for sure? In zone 8, I believe.

@winds-of-change im along ways from your neck of the woods, up in British Columbia Canada. We get bears, wolves, cougars, coyotes, foxes, wolverines and more but no wild piggies

I was looking out of one of my windows facing our woods were the G-kids had a tree house. It was misty and foggy .i saw movement and lost count at 19 ferral hogs! All sizes and ages! Scared me for weeks just because my kiddos love to play out there. I'v never seen them again.

I think it is ok but we wait till April and we are in zone 8 too. But somebody else may know more about them than we do.
