i want to bulk buy celery. Picking it up on Monday. Hopefully it is in stock.
if you have a local heating and air supply store they should have a 25x25 metal overflow safety pan that will you can use for your freeze dryer, I put cork blocks under mine to elevate it. They have a 3/4 pie drain on the , I just piped it to a bucket as well.Could the freeze dryer fit in a water heater pan?

You are going to love it, we have had ours for a couple months now. I can’t wait for the garden to start producing excess but as for now I have been freeze drying frozen veggies and broccoli, apples, strawberries and have done around 20 lbs of ground beef .My freeze dryer came in a few weeks ago. Just started using it this week.

the main thing I have found with freeze drying is it’s hard to keep from snacking on it when it’s done, sweet corn and green bean are my favorite as a snack.
My wife and daughter both love doing sweet corn , green beans and strawberries.I've been doing veggies from the freezer, tomato sauce, eggs, cheese and just got done with 8lbs of hamburger
The sweet corn makes a great snack, I haven't done the other 2 yet. They are still buried in the freezer. My wife and daughter both love doing sweet corn , green beans and strawberries.

There is also rebuild kits for the pumps.
I will snag a pic when I go out there. I have the premiere pump.DOuble R, Can you send me the specs for the pumps? Their should be a tag somewhere the has voltage, Hz, CFM. I source a lot of pumps for our air stations at work. I'm betting I can find a replacement
We are too, and this is what has deterred me, is the power draw. I'm hoping the addition of a wind turbine will help on those days (like today) where there is no sunshine. We've been looking in to buying a Harvest Right freeze dryer. But I don't think it will work out for us because of the power draw, at least in the winter. We generate much more power (solar) in the summer that it would probably work. Even then it would cause the generator to come on after dark. So for us it may not be feasible.
That's good. We won't have the option to connect to the grid, unless we want to pay over 100k to pull power back to the build site. Then pay monthly? No thanks! lolRight now we are in the process of going solar, but will still connected to the electric lines. We would rather go back to eclectic verses our house generator. We would rather that the last result. But yes, I feel like our freeze dryer may drain out a lot of energy that we get from the sun. The only good thing about the electric company is what "energy" that we do generate and have overages, goes to them and gives us a credit.
That $100k base line gives you a world of optionsThat's good. We won't have the option to connect to the grid, unless we want to pay over 100k to pull power back to the build site. Then pay monthly? No thanks! lol
